You are Royalty

You are Royalty

Catherine Elizabeth "KateMiddleton

Born January 9, 1982 in Reading, England to a middle class family. Nothing really special about her.

She attended the University of St. Andrews. There she met a man by the name of William. William, on the other hand, had a bit of a different upbringing. He often goes by the name, Prince William, and his grandmother just happens to be Queen Elizabeth II.

They fell in love, and when she said "I do" everything changed. She was added into a royal family. A normal girl from Reading, is now looked at as royalty and it was nothing that she did. She just happened to fall in love with the right guy. But now she goes by the name "Catherine Duchess of Cambridge" and everything is different because of what she is called now.

Why do I tell you that?

Because that is our story too.

At best we are average Joes, nothing particularly special about us. But if you have accepted the free gift of salvation that God offers though Jesus, then you are not just an "average Joe" from Houston or a "no name" girl from a Boston suburb, you are royalty.

But not just royalty like Kate is, you are everlasting royalty, a son or daughter, not a prince or princess to the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. The King that all of creation bows before, you are offspring of Him.

"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven." (Hebrews 1:3)

Let that be an encouragement to you, if you have ever felt like you are not anything special, in Christ, you are.

But also, live into your royality. People don't talk down to royalty, people don't set on and use royalty. But also totality has the responsiblity to care for others. To show love to the outcast, to comfort the afflicted and heartbroken and show how this royal family is open to anyone. Anyone who is willing to admit they are broken and they need a savior can be adopted into the royal family of Jesus.

Everything changes when we are called son and daughter by Him who reigns over all.

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." (1 Peter 2:9)

So to every girl who dreamed of being a princess, you are one. To the guy who wanted to be king of the school, you are a prince in Christ. The one who wanted to be on the homecoming court, there is a better court you are part of.

"The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God." -C.S. Lewis

Live into the royal identity you now have because of Christ.
