The Legend of Tarzan is...

The Legend of Tarzan is...

Short answer: Its good. Nothing amazing but still entertaining. Not the greatest movie, nor the worst, its just a movie. If you like the animated version and enjoy african animals, I'd say so see it. If not just wait until DVD.

Longer answer: The legend of Tarzan takes places 8 years after Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgard) left the jungle and returned to England. He is invited back for diplomatic reason and returns not realizing it is actually a trap. The story progresses from there. The action is good, not great and the character development is sub-par. Samuel L Jackson's character offers some decent comic relief, that you'll either love or hate. to enjoy this movie you really must embrace your suspension of belief in regards to the CGI, because it is very heavy CGI, and there were times you could notice it.  Rotten Tomatoes currently has the summer flick at 35%, but I'd rank it more of a 65%. Like I said before it was good not great, but if you desperately need to see a movie in the theater its worth checking out. Its a movie that I've seen once, but won't probably see again.

There is on major thing missing in this film: Phil Collins!
